Co-operation with ICP Forests and ENFIN

The FutMon project aims at a the creation of an improved pan-European forest monitoring system. It closely collaborates with and builds on plots of the International Co-operative Programme on Assessment and Monitoring of Air Pollution Effects on Forests (ICP Forests), a Forest Monitoring programme under the UNECE Convention on Long-range Transbpoundary Air Pollution. The ICP Forests website thus provides more detailed information on a number of activities relevant for FutMon. At the same time the project aims at an integration with National Forest Inventories, which in many cases can provide more detailed forest information at national levels. FutMon large scale plots and infrastructures are planned to serve as pillar for the harmonisation of National Forest Invetories. A close collaboration with the European National Foret Inventory Network (ENFIN) is thus an integral part of FutMon.
